Job Description:
We have an opening in the Information Technology Department for a Systems Engineer to be based out of the Technology & Innovation Center in Grimes, IA.
The systems engineering team is responsible for the IT server and computer system infrastructure across the enterprise including Hy-Vee's retail, corporate, subsidiary, distribution, and manufacturing facilities.
The ideal candidate will excel at obtaining results in a fast-paced environment, have excellent problem solving and communication skills, and can connect technology to real-world business challenges.
Responsibilities:
Administers and maintains Windows servers operating on physical infrastructure or VMware and Hyper-V hypervisors.
Engineers highly available solutions for on-premises datacenter workloads.
Encourages automation by leveraging PowerShell and or other scripting languages.
Administers and maintains storage, backups, and replication.
Provide advanced troubleshooting support and mentorship to the Systems Administrators.
Creates and maintains technical documentation stored within the team's knowledge base.
Qualifications:
Extensive experience administering Windows Server technologies (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, DFS, Clustering, PKI) Extensive experience with VMware or Hyper-V hypervisors.
Extensive experience with enterprise datacenter storage and compute technologies such as Pure Storage, NetApp, Cisco UCS, Fiber Channel, and iSCSI.
Experience with troubleshooting applications and preventative maintenance.
Understanding of monitoring tools such as NAGIOS.
Understanding of the network stack.
Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, PowerShell, or other scripting languages.
Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude.
A degree in MIS, Computer Science, or equivalent technical field from an accredited university or equivalent work experience is required.
Experience and Education Bachelor degree preferred, or relevant experience.
The ideal candidate would have 5
years of experience as a Systems Engineer The ideal candidate would have 5
years of experience working with Group Policy, Active Directory, Certificates and Azure Active Directory.
The ideal candidate would have strong experience with SCCM and MECM.
